Welcome to the first episode of the all new messa.tv video podcast shot in our offices in Osaka, Japan.
Here are the show notes, with links to various sites and programs we talked about.
First off, we talked about this being the first episode of a new series, and that we would be keeping the old archives. They are all in Japanese though.
Hiro then introduced me to asiajin.com and talked about the story of the security idol Securina. I mentioned the Ueto Aya poster I saw a while back.
I then asked Hiro for a recommendation for an offline rss feed reader for the ipod touch/iphone, and he recommended AeroReader, which is a free, offline capable sister app of Livedoor Reader/Fastladder. I am a Fastladder user so I’m definitely installing it. Other app recommendations in this section were IRChon, 語語Navi which I couldn’t remember the name of and iEijiro.
Moving on, we starting talking about video hosting and the reasons I used vimeo for the bookstore tour video. And the various pros and cons of youtube and problems with the directors account. (We finally decided to upload to vimeo but we are still exploring options.) We also talked about niconico douga, which is the most popular native Japanese video sharing service. Hiro said he would link to some of his favourite videos, which are in this blog post: Best 5 indie vocaloid electro songs – Vox.
Finally, we talked about the localisation work we’ve done on our WordPress powered blogs. We re-launched the Japanese messaliberty blog using the same theme as the English site. Localisation work is due to finish at the end of the month.
Thank-you for watching and as we mentioned at the end, if you enjoyed the show, please tell your friends. Spread the work by Digging us or deliciousing us or if you have any questions, please send us mail at: messatv@gmail.com.
